Fevers, Strep, and Tapeworms?

As crazy as things have been for the past few months, today was interesting. Little Tommy and I woke up to the ringing telephone at 9:50 this morning. It was daddy calling from the road on his way to La Jolla. Yup, that's right...we slept in. But, we were up a lot during the night because LT was running a fever. This was the final factor in my decision to call and get him in to see the doctor. He has had a rash on his left side and on his tummy since Saturday. I thought it was from his floaties at first. But, it hasn't gone away, and why is it on his tummy too? So paired with the fever last night, I decided he needed to get in to the MD. So we were pretty lazy most of the day. And I'm not sure if it's because he's not feeling so well, but he was an angel today. In fact he has been so good for the past week. Compared to the horrible weeks preceding, this is answered prayer. Anyway, the doctor tested him for strep and the immediate results came back negative. She did send the sample away for the 3 day culture, just to be sure. Also, I mentioned that he has been digging in his bottom a lot recently. So she gave me a lab slip to get a kit to test for tapeworm. Oh, puleeeez do not let him have tapeworm. That is nasty. Poor kid. Maybe he's just discovered a new "place" in his body. Who knows? I guess we'll find out in the next few days. I couldn't get the kit today because the lab was already closed. I work tomorrow. So it'll have to be Friday. Anyway, exhaustion has set in. I've got to be up bright and early tomorrow. We celebrate my birthday at lunch tomorrow, woohoo! I'll do my best to post something. No guarantees. I've never been good at keeping up with this kind of thing. Oh yeah, just for my future reference LT weighed 28 3/4 pounds today with shoes on and a full bladder, hehe.
