Brown Soup and Ice Cream & Happy Birthday Levi

Happy Birthday Levi...You're 4 years old!!!

So yesterday I decided to have a nice "mommy and me" time with LT. So when it was time for him to wake up from his nap, I went upstairs and gently woke him up. He's very touchy these days and if "wrongly" awoken a melt down is inevitable. I'm pretty sure he's going through a growth spurt because he is sleeping like crazy and this is a radical change from the pattern over the past 3 months or so. As soon as his molars started coming in, he started waking up in the middle of the night, calling, "Mommy." This happened EVERY single night for at least 3 months. Now, over the past week, it's changed drastically. Not only is he sleeping solidly through the night and having to be woken in the morning, but he is taking a minimum of 3 hour naps (1.5 hours was the norm during the 3 month time frame) every day. So I have to wake him from his naps at 3 hours, or he'll probably go to sleep at 1 am.

As I was saying...I went to wake LT up and to make it sweet, I laid next to him and as his eyes were rolling around to the back of his head and eyelids fluttering, trying to open, I asked if he wanted to have some hot chocolate with mommy. Of course he tried harder to wake up and it was much easier, now that he heard the word "chocolate." He had never had hot chocolate so he didn't know what it was.

After going potty we went down stairs and made the hot chocolate on the stove top. We put some cool whip on it and sat down to share our drinks. We each had a spoon and our cups in front of us and he tried to drink it. Thankfully, I stopped him because it was so hot. I showed him how to use his spoon so that it would be cooler. When the cool whip or ice cream, as he called it, was gone, he finally started to get the hot chocolate. I asked him if he thought it was good and he said, "Yummy brown soup." How cute it that? I corrected him, but he kept telling people (grandma, Mimi, and daddy) that he was eating brown soup. So cute.

He had a pretty good day at school, other than a time out for not listening to Miss Jan, and having an accident in his pants (pee pee). When I got home and asked him if he went potty in his pants, he said, "Yes.[pause,pause]...Tooommmmyyyy." The tone was too cute. I'm thinking that when he did this, Miss Tana or Miss Jan, must have said to him, Tooooommmmyyyy...." So funny.

Anyway, today was uneventful. I made my first homemade chicken potpie. It was really good. It's too bad LT gets his pickiness from me. I guess he'll starve until he starts eating what's offered him. So frustrating!

One more thing. Not that I'm totally brainwashing my child, but when asked where the Packers live, he says, "Wisconsin." HE also knows that the Vikings are in Minnesota and that Brett Favre is number 4. Hmmm, I wonder how he knows this???

Have a good one!
